Morocco Will Welcome the World
FIFA WORLD CUP 2030

In 2030, Morocco will co-host the FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal. As the first FIFA World Cup to span three countries and two continents, it will shine an even brighter spotlight on a destination that has long captivated travelers with its rich history, vibrant culture, diverse landscapes, and renowned hospitality.

This page is designed to be your FIFA World Cup 2030 Morocco travel resource. Whether you’re considering a trip before the tournament or planning to experience the World Cup itself, you’ll find inspiration, practical travel advice, suggested itineraries, and updates as new information becomes available.

Two Ways to Experience Morocco

There is no single “right” way to plan a trip around the FIFA World Cup. It depends on what kind of experience you’re looking for.

Scenario One: Discover Morocco Before 2030

If Morocco is already on your travel list, there’s no reason to wait. Visiting before the World Cup allows you to experience the country on its own terms—from the golden dunes of the Sahara and the peaks of the Atlas Mountains to imperial cities, coastal towns, boutique riads, and authentic cultural experiences.

Then, if attending the FIFA World Cup is on your bucket list, you can return in 2030 to experience Morocco from an entirely different perspective, when the country welcomes football fans from around the world.

Scenario Two: Make the World Cup Part of a Bigger Journey

If your first visit to Morocco is for FIFA 2030, don’t let the tournament define your entire trip.

Plan to arrive a few days before your match, stay beyond the final whistle, and discover the Morocco that exists beyond the stadiums. Combine match days with time in Marrakech, Rabat, Tangier, Agadir, or Casablanca, then continue to places such as the Sahara Desert, the Atlas Mountains, Essaouira, Chefchaouen, or Fez.

A FIFA World Cup match may be the reason you first visit Morocco, but it doesn’t have to define your experience.

Whether you visit before 2030 or during the tournament, Morocco offers far more than football. My role is to help you design an itinerary that reflects your interests, whether that’s culture, luxury, food, adventure, wellness, family travel, or the excitement of the world’s biggest sporting event.

Why Morocco?

Long before it became a World Cup host, Morocco was already one of the most captivating destinations on earth a place where continents, cultures, and centuries meet.

Culture. Morocco sits at the crossroads of Arab, Berber, African, Jewish and European influence, creating a richness found in its architecture, music, and daily rhythms of life.

Cuisine. From slow-simmered tagines to fragrant mint tea ceremonies, Moroccan food is an experience in itself rooted in tradition and generous hospitality.

The Sahara. Few landscapes on earth compare to the golden dunes of the Sahara, where camel treks and desert camps offer a kind of stillness travelers rarely find elsewhere.

Authentic Luxury. Morocco’s riads, boutique hotels, and five-star resorts blend traditional craftsmanship with modern indulgence, offering a different kind of luxury than the typical European escape.

The Atlas Mountains. Snow-capped peaks, Berber villages, and dramatic valleys sit just hours from the coast a striking contrast most travelers never expect.

The Atlantic Coast. From the surf towns of Taghazout to the breezy charm of Essaouira, Morocco’s coastline offers a slower, wilder kind of beauty.

Mediterranean Coast. Long before it became a World Cup host, Morocco was already one of the most captivating destinations on earth a place where continents, cultures, and centuries meet.

Hospitality. More than any single sight, it’s the warmth of the Moroccan people that stays with travelers long after they’ve gone home.

This is a country that sells itself long before a single match is played.

Morocco’s Host Cities

Each of Morocco’s World Cup host cities has its own character, its own rhythm, and its own reasons to visit.

Casablanca, Morocco’s modern face, home to the awe-inspiring Hassan II Mosque, a thriving restaurant scene, and a stretch of Atlantic coastline.

Marrakech, A city of riads, gardens, and winding souks, balanced by world-class dining, golf, and nightlife.

Rabat, The capital city, where history, culture, and architecture meet a quiet coastal setting.

Tangier, A Mediterranean gateway city full of café culture, layered history, and sweeping sea views.

Agadir, Morocco’s beach capital, known for golf, surfing, and effortless relaxation.

Fez, Not an official host city, but an essential extension: home to one of the world’s oldest medinas and a living showcase of Moroccan artisanship.

Beyond the Match

Here’s where a Morocco World Cup trip becomes something far bigger than a football trip.

Instead of flying in for a single match and flying home, extend your journey and experience the Morocco that exists far beyond the stadiums:

  • The vast silence and star-filled skies of the Sahara
  • The dramatic peaks and villages of the Atlas Mountains
  • The blue-washed streets of Chefchaouen
  • The windswept, artistic coastal town of Essaouira
  • The ancient medina and craftsmanship of Fez
  • The gardens, souks, and energy of Marrakech

A World Cup match might be the reason travelers first look at Morocco. It won’t be the reason they fall in love with it.
